Learn NABP And FPGEC Requirements For Credential Report

**Electronic Documents: If you or your school can send documents electronically through Electronic Transcript Exchange (ETX), Digitary, or my eQuals, then you may share your documents with us through the service.  Please do not send us any personal login or user information.**

We may be able to accept alternatives to our standard documentation requirements. Secure electronic documents should be sent to ECEMail@ece.org directly from a verifiable email address of the institution. Please ask the institution to include your name and ECE reference number when providing us with secure electronic documents. However, this is not a guarantee, as we must review all documents sent on a case-by-case basis. If you have any questions, please Contact Us (please do not email questions to ecemail@ece.org; this is for document submission only).

Required Documentation for the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP)/Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC)

Note: These requirements differ from ECE’s normal documentation requirements.

Please note: Professional licensure documents ("Official Proof of Licensure and/or Registration" per NABP) should NOT be submitted to ECE with your application for the ECE evaluation report. ECE evaluation reports include only educational documentation. Your professional licensure documents should be submitted directly to NABP, per the FPGEC Candidate Application Bulletin (see https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/foreign-pharmacy/).

NABP requires:

  • General Report
  • ‌The report must be sent directly from ECE to NABP, along with documentation submitted for evaluation.

When applying for an ECE® report:

  • ‌Select the NABP as the purpose of the report.
  • ‌Make sure that you provide instructions for one official copy of the report to be sent to the NABP.

Important Information about Submitting Official Supporting Documentation

NABP requires specific original documentation.  There are exceptions to this documentation that are included towards the end of this list (below).  Normal official documentation must:

  • ‌Include an inked or impressed seal or stamp of the issuing body.
  • ‌Include an inked signature of the individual from the issuing body authorized to certify the document.
  • ‌Be sealed in an envelope by the issuing body. A seal, stamp, or signature of an official must overlap the flap closure and the envelope. (The sealed envelope may be submitted to ECE by you or the issuing body.)
  • ‌Official documentation that is not in English, or that contains non-English stamps or seals, must be accompanied with a word-for-word English translation. (See the “Translation of Non-English Documents” section below.)

1. Official Transcript(s)

To be considered for certification, you must submit official transcripts of all pre-pharmacy, professional pharmacy degree, and post-degree pharmacy studies to ECE. If there were additional coursework requirements for graduation, an official transcript is also required.

Official transcripts must:

  • Include school seal/stamp
  • Include signature (in ink) of a pharmacy school official
  • Include the dates you attended pharmacy school
  • Include grades or other documentation proving completion
  • Be sealed in an envelope by the issuing body. A seal, stamp, or signature of an official must overlap the flap closure and the envelope. (The sealed envelope may be submitted to ECE by you or the issuing body.)

Please note that if the degree program required an internship prior to graduation, then a school-issued document detailing the content or areas of training in the internship must also be included.

Unofficial photocopies of transcripts will not be accepted.

2. Official Proof of Degree

Official proof of the pharmacy degree, indicating the title of the degree and the date of issuance, must also be submitted to ECE.

Official proof of degree must:

  • Be the pharmacy degree or qualification that is the professional degree leading to licensure and/or registration to practice pharmacy.
  • Be sealed in an envelope by the issuing body. A seal, stamp, or signature of an official must overlap the flap closure and the envelope. (The sealed envelope may be submitted to ECE by you or the issuing body.)

Unofficial photocopies of proof of degree will not be accepted.

3. Photocopy of Your Pharmacy Degree

In addition to Official Proof of Degree, please also submit a photocopy of your pharmacy degree that was issued upon graduation.

The photocopy does not need to be issued in a sealed envelope.

4. Translation of Non-English Documents

You may not prepare your own translations.

Any document, including all seals and/or stamps, not in English must be accompanied by an original, official, word-for-word English translation, prepared and certified as correct by an official translator.

The FPGEC considers an official translator to be a certified translator, a certified court interpreter, an authorized government official, or an official from the pharmacy school where you obtained your pharmacy degree.

You may also obtain an original official translation from a professional translation service or an appropriate language department at any university.

Original official English translations do not need to be received in a sealed envelope.

The FPGEC must be able to identify the name of the translator. Each page of the original translation must be signed and dated by the translator, and must appear on official stationery. The translator must provide an attestation statement regarding the accuracy of each translation. Proof of the translator’s credentials must accompany each translation.

If a translation is necessary for an educational document (transcript or proof of degree) that is in a sealed envelope, then you should request two sets of sealed official educational documents:

  • You can use one set to obtain an English translation.
  • The other set must remain unopened in the original sealed envelope.

Alternatively, you can instruct the educational institution to include the official translation in the same envelope that contains the official documentation.

Documentation from a country that is not listed below should be issued in the native language and be accompanied by English translations as noted.

Important Note: We verify all documents from Afghanistan with the issuing body. This may cause significant delays in the preparation of an evaluation report. Ordering Rush service will not speed up the verification process.

Because ECE will verify your documents, please submit only a photocopy or scan (both sides of the document) for the following:

  1. Diploma / degree*
  2. Official grade report / transcript*

  * It is recommended, but not required, that the documents are stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and certified by the Embassy of Afghanistan.

Cameroon

Important Note: We verify most documents from Cameroon with the issuing body. This may cause significant delays in the preparation of an evaluation report. Ordering Rush service will not speed up the verification process.

Because ECE will verify your documents, please submit only a photocopy or scan (both sides of the document) for the following:

  1. Diploma / degree*
  2. Official Relevé de Notes (Grade report) / transcript*

* Exceptions for University of Buea and University of Yaoundé:

  2. University of Buea Verification Report: Follow these instructions for obtaining a verification report (PDF)

University of Yaoundé:

Do not submit any documentation issued by the University of Yaoundé I or the University of Yaoundé II.  We will not include documentation issued by these institutions on evaluation reports because they do not have reliable verification resources.

China

In addition to the documentation requirements above, please note that for China ECE requires verification reports from CHSI. Both degree and grade report must be verified.

The verification report (认证报告) must be sent directly to ECE by:

        • CHSI verification for each degree ( 学位证书 ) AND for each transcript ( 成绩单 )

The sealed envelope can be submitted to ECE either by the candidate or directly by CJI or BES.

This documentation should include the proof of degree (confirmation of receipt of Título) and grade report (Certificado de Estudios/Certificado de Notas/Calificaciones).

NOTE: Required documents may be acceptable if emailed directly to ECE from BES or CJI.

Eritrea

Due to current circumstances, we cannot verify most Eritrean credentials. At this time, ECE cannot prepare a report for NABP based on documents from Eritrea.

If you have educational credentials from another country, please see the documentation requirements for that country and apply to have those documents evaluated.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and will update our website if we resume evaluating Eritrean documents.

Somalia

Due to current circumstances, we cannot verify most Somali credentials. At this time, ECE cannot prepare a report for NABP based on documents from Somalia.

If you have educational credentials from another country, please see the documentation requirements for that country and apply to have those documents evaluated.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and will update our website if we resume evaluating Somali documents.

     United States

Although ECE evaluation reports typically do not include study completed in the United States, the NABP requires official documentation for all study that applied to the requirements of the foreign professional degree in pharmacy.  Therefore, if study completed in the U.S. led to transfer or advanced standing in the professional pharmacy degree program, then ECE requires an official transcript issued in a sealed envelope prepared by the educational institution.  Note: U.S. documents are not required for post-professional graduate study or non-related coursework.
