Meet Sheree Yates, Senior Director of Human Resources at ECE, and someone who’s been with the organization for over 25 years—wow! Sheree’s role isn’t just about managing HR strategies; she’s all about supporting the growth and development of ECE’s amazing team, all while leading with a caring, intelligent, and supportive approach. Outside of HR, she’s a leader in the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) at the state level, proving she’s not just invested in ECE but in the broader HR community, too. When Sheree’s not in HR mode, she’s all about quality time with family and friends, whether it’s a Packers game or hosting the next get-together. Q: What's your background? What did you do before joining ECE?
I have had the pleasure of working for ECE for over 25 years. I am actively involved in the HR community and serve as a leader at the state level for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Q: What do you do at ECE? What excites you most about your position and/or your team.
I serve as the senior director of HR for ECE. I love that in my work allows me to support the growth and development of our staff members and lead the strategy of our human resource practices.
Q: What do you like most about working at ECE?
I love how the mission of the organization is felt through all roles at ECE.
Q: What are three words that describe ECE's culture?
Supportive. Intelligent. Caring.
Q: ECE prides itself on our Halloween celebrations. What’s your favorite Halloween costume (at any age)?
My favorite Halloween costume was Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. A group of nine of us dressed up with a Wizard of Oz theme and hit the town. It was fun bringing the cast to life.
Q: What’s one of your favorite activities when you’re not working? Tell us something that others might find surprising.
Spending time with my family, extended family, and friends is what I love to do most when I'm not working. It could be a coffee date with an old friend or an afternoon cheering on the Packers. Time with those I care about fills my glass.
Q: Where have you traveled inside or outside of the U.S.? Do you have a favorite country, city, or region that you like to visit?
I love traveling the U.K.
Q: If you went to university, did you engage in any Study Abroad? If so, where?
I hadn't done a study abroad program, but if I could do it all again, I definitely would. I feel like it would have enriched my college experience even more.
Q: Are there any books or movies that you simply could not put down or kept thinking about long after you had read or watched them? Why?
The movie Extreme Measures was one that stuck with me. It opens with a spur-of-the-moment decision regarding medical integrity in the emergency room and intertwines the gray line of a code of ethics throughout the movie.

Q. Vacation or Staycation?
Vacation - I love the chance to get out and see the world. While I love exploring, I don't like the traveling part to get there. If I had a superpower, it would be teleportation so I could save time and effort spent on travel.
