Meet Sarah.

Meet Sarah Hoverson, Evaluator.  With a passion for education and a love for learning, Sarah brings a wealth of experience to ECE. Before joining the team, she spent 14 years as an elementary school teacher, shaping young minds. Her dedication to helping others shines through in her work, and she loves being part of ECE’s work culture. When she’s not evaluating credentials, you’ll likely find her camping with family in Northern Wisconsin, perfecting her favorite s’more combination, or cheering on the Packers. Get to know more about Sarah in our fun Q&A!

Q & A Session.

Q. What's your background? What did you do before joining ECE?
I spent 14 years as an elementary school teacher—10 in kindergarten and 4 in 2nd grade—before joining ECE, and I will always be an educator at heart! Before that, during high school and college, I worked in customer service at a supermarket, an ice cream shop (go ICS!), and an electric company. I can stock produce, craft the perfect soft-serve cone (it’s all in the wrist action!), balance a cash box, and shred paper like a champ!

Q. What do you like most about working at ECE?
The exceptional and supportive people I get the privilege to work with each day. I love the work that we do and the satisfaction of helping others. Working remotely is also a nice perk!

Q. What are three words that describe ECE's culture?
Only 3?!?! This is hard because it is simply the best culture, I have the privilege of being a part of! If I have to choose, I will say: supportive, committed, and accommodating.

Q. ECE prides itself on our Halloween celebrations. What’s your favorite Halloween costume (at any age)?
In elementary school, I was a human picnic table. My parents took a checkered tablecloth, folded it in half, and cut a hole for my neck. Then, we glued on all the picnic essentials—napkins, paper plates, and boxes of my favorite snacks. I wore this costume with pride! It was a quick but 'made-with-love' costume that I will never forget.

Q. What’s one of your favorite activities when you’re not working? Tell us something that others might find surprising.
Spending time with family camping in Northern Wisconsin. There is nothing better than being in nature with the ones that you love! Have you ever tried a SMORE with a marshmallow and white peanut butter cup? If not, then you should. It's my favorite SMORE combination.

Q. Do you have a favorite cuisine? If yes, a particular dish you love?
Oh my gosh, I LOVE food, so this is another hard one. I honestly cannot pick just one cuisine. Whenever people ask about my favorite food, I say cheese. It's a comfort food for me and can be found in just about any cuisine. Plus, being born, raised and still residing in Wisconsin, I'm definitely a Cheesehead at heart! Go Pack Go!!!

Lightening Round!

Q. Netflix or Hulu?
Netflix: More of my favorite shows tend to be on Netflix—i.e., Virgin River.

Q. Passenger or Driver?
Passenger: Not a fan of winter driving!

Q: City or Country?
Country: I like it quiet.

Q. Wine or Beer?
Wine: I like it fruity.

Q. Camping or glamping?
Camping: LOVE camping with my family and "roughing" it in our camper. We spend most of our time outside by the campfire.

Q. Cooking or being cooked for?
Cooking: I enjoy trying out a new recipe every so often.

Q. Hot or iced coffee?
Hot coffee: I'm always cold.

Q. Patterned or plain?
Plain: You can dress it up, dress it down, or accessorize it easily. I love fun earrings and have quite a collection!
