Q & A Session.

Q: What's your background? What did you do before joining ECE?
I was from the Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) industry in the Philippines, specifically in the field of Freight Forwarding and Logistics. During my tenure as a Sales Representative, I managed key accounts in the USA, Australia, and New Zealand, representing our international clientele. My responsibilities included making calls to introduce the company and its services, with the goal of setting appointments for my counterpart. These meetings, whether conducted over the phone or face-to-face, aimed to secure new business and drive sales. I also served as a backup for some of our key accounts, which enabled me to gain adaptability and versatility skills.

Q: What do you do at ECE? What excites you most about your position and/or your team.
My role as an Institution Support Specialist has allowed me to showcase my dedication to providing exceptional customer support. In addition to offering the utmost aid to our valued third-party customers, my position has also provided me with the opportunity to collaborate with internal departments, particularly our esteemed colleagues in Client Solutions. My role is continuously evolving, and participating in project development is an aspect I did not anticipate but thoroughly enjoy. We are a team of three and working with brilliant people motivates me to reach my full potential. I look forward to expanding my learnings with ECE, aligning with its mission to touch more lives by helping individuals with foreign credentials gain recognition and opportunities, same as what ECE and my role have given me.

Q: What do you like most about working at ECE?
I like the work–life balance at ECE. The people at ECE are friendly, empathetic, consistently ready to help, and perceive errors as a chance for development. Working in a great work environment that treats each other respectfully and as a family is a perfect motivation.

Q: What are three words that describe ECE's culture?
Diverse, generous and accepting

Q: ECE prides itself on our Halloween celebrations. What’s your favorite Halloween costume (at any age)?
Last year we welcomed our second cat Luna into our home. She's just amazing, and she inspired me to channel my inner Catwoman for a costume party. I rocked a thrifted faux fur coat and a pearl choker necklace, adding my own unique twist to the typical Catwoman look. It was a blast to put my personal touch on a classic costume.

Q: What’s one of your favorite activities when you’re not working? Tell us something that others might find surprising.
I'm a real creative spirit with a big love for fashion, interior design, arts, and decor that emphasize cultural representation. Currently, I am using our living space as my canvas for my creative expression. I dedicate my time to visiting flea markets, antique shops, and thrift stores in search of unique pieces that complement my eclectic, granny chic design style. Additionally, I am a lover of indoor plants (70 + and counting) and am continuously working towards transforming our space into a lush, green sanctuary.

Q: Where have you traveled inside or outside of the U.S.? Do you have a favorite country, city, or region that you like to visit?
I was born and raised in the Philippines, making the United States the second country I have had the pleasure of residing in, and which I now call my second home. I also had the opportunity to visit Toronto, Canada, and was truly captivated by the city's diversity. It was heartwarming to see locals and tourists alike, coexisting and enjoying themselves. In the future, I am eager to explore various European and Asian countries. The thought of learning about other cultures and the unique home decor pieces I could discover there fills me with excitement.

Q: If you went to university, did you engage in any Study Abroad? If so, where?
No, I did not participate in a study abroad program. I completed a four-year degree in the Philippines.

Q: Are there any books or movies that you simply could not put down or kept thinking about long after you had read or watched them? Why?
I recently delved into Viola Davis' book, "Finding Me." Her narrative was inspiring, and I found myself identifying with aspects of her struggles and her remarkable resilience in the face of adversity.

Q: Do you have a favorite cuisine? If yes, a particular dish you love?
Filipino, Thai and Japanese cuisine. Oh, I lied any Asian food.
