Q & A Session.
Q: What's your background? What did you do before joining ECE?
My last job is hard to describe but was totally worth it. I worked as a kind of 'secret shopper,' collecting pricing data for competing stores. Our clients included retailers like Roundy's, Festival Foods, and Piggly Wiggly. It was a fantastic role – the pay was great, and we only needed to work a couple of days each week. It was a good 17 years.
Q: What do you do at ECE? What excites you most about your position and/or your team.
Order Fulfillment Associate. What I love most about this role is that, when it’s busy, I can just keep moving. It also satisfies my slight obsession with symmetry; I aim to make each package as uniform as possible, which helps the time fly by.
Q: What do you like most about working at ECE?
I can walk or bike here easily and it doesn't require driving.
Q: What are three words that describe ECE's culture?
Supportive, helpful, relaxed.
Q: What’s one of your favorite activities when you’re not working? Tell us something that others might find surprising.
I love camping, hiking, and cycling, but the biggest focus of the past 25 years has been playing music—drums, guitar, bass, and anything else that makes noise. I’ve been in approximately 60 bands and have toured across the U.S., Europe, Cuba, Japan, and Vietnam.
Q: Where have you traveled inside or outside of the U.S.? Do you have a favorite country, city, or region that you like to visit?
I’ve been to 46 U.S. states, as well as Canada, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Cuba, Japan, Vietnam, and 10 EU countries, mostly in Eastern Europe. Touring as a musician has taken me to some amazing places. I’ve been to Japan six times now, and it never gets old. Finally seeing Europe at 38 was especially magnificent.
Q: Do you have a favorite cuisine? If yes, a particular dish you love?
Indian—I’ll never tire of Massaman curry, dal, pakora, paneer… basically, all of it.
Lightening Round!
Q: Vacation or staycation?
Vacation - I love traveling!
Q: Netflix or Hulu?
Hulu – It’s the one I bought?
Q: Passenger or driver?
Driver – It passes the time faster. I get bored riding.
Q: Wine or beer?
Whiskey actually.
Q: Camping or glamping?
Camping – I’m not rich enough to glamp.
Q: Cooking or being cooked for?
Being cooked for – It feels like the person appreciates you.
Q: Roommates or live alone?
Roommates – There is someone to blame when it’s messy.
Q: Reality shows or documentaries?
Documentaries – reality shows are not real.
