Specialized Library
ECE houses a reference library of more than 35,000 volumes related to international education, as well as more than 350,000 sample educational credentials. Our resources and experience enable us to accurately verify the official status of educational institutions and the authenticity of educational credentials.
Agencies that use ECE for the Evaluation of Foreign Educational Credentials
College and university personnel use ECE® evaluation reports to make decisions concerning admission and placement of potential students. State licensing boards use our reports to determine eligibility for professional licensure.
Employers use our reports to determine if job applicants are qualified, and immigration attorneys use them to document a client's educational qualifications.
Who can request an evaluation report?
Individuals may request an evaluation on their own behalf for their personal use. Academic institutions, government agencies, employers, and law firms may also request an evaluation report on behalf of a current or prospective student, applicant, employee, or client.
History of ECE
From its inception in 1980 in the home of its founder, Dr. James S. Frey, ECE has expanded, currently employing more than 70 people and occupying a suite of offices in the historic former Schlitz brewery near downtown Milwaukee. Dr. Frey also founded the Pioneer Fund.
Mission Statement
The mission of ECE is to serve persons who have completed part or all of their education outside of the United States so that their educational qualifications are properly recognized when they seek employment, professional licensure, further education, or other benefits for which educational achievement is a prerequisite.
